An international career
Assoc. Prof. Tomasz Gołąbek graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical Academy of Białystok in 2000. After five years as a junior registrar at the Department of Urology, University Hospital in Białystok, and completing his PhD in medical sciences, he undertook an eighteen-month fellowship in neurourology and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine in the USA.
He then completed two years of formal surgical training at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, earning Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCSI). This was followed by four years of urology training at Cork University Hospital and Mercy University Hospital in Ireland.

Awarded the degree of habilitated doctor of medical sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków.
Clinical interests
Assoc. Prof. Gołąbek’s principal clinical interests are chronic prostatitis, recurrent urinary tract infections and aesthetic urology. Drawing on many years of international experience, he established an innovative Prostatitis Clinic and Urinary Tract Infection Clinic, where complete resolution of chronic prostatitis is achieved in approximately 70% of patients and of recurrent urinary tract infections in women in approximately 97% of cases — placing these clinics among the leading centres of their kind worldwide.
Awards and distinctions
Winner of numerous international awards. Scholar of the European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP), the American Austrian Foundation and the Open Medical Institute. Author of two books, six textbook chapters and more than 70 papers published in prestigious international journals.
